Is the security of the app so important that you have to make it extremely annoying to use on every sinlge launch by requiring RESTORE PURCHASE. Who need that, there’s plenty of video players that don’t do that. Ultimately, I can’t favorably endorse an app that is so annoying, that I avoid it like the plague. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB move on the developer’s part to require CONSTANT RESTORING OF PURCHASE from App Store. It’s totally worse than the upgrade nag screen on the free version. It’s so annoying, that I avoid using this app if at all possible. Why can IT REMEMBER that I’ve been a paying customer for YEARS. It’s been happeneing for at least a YEAR and no fix yet. But, THIS APP HAS AN INCREDIBLY ANNOYING TRAIT, if you go premium and buy the PRO version of the app…then everytime you launch the app you ARE REQUIRED TO RESTORE TEH PRO APP FROM THE App Store, Everytime, without fail. I initially really liked this video player, because it plays so many different formats that other palyers like won’t like QuickTime won’t. * Make a screenshot of any moment or make the entire video a series of pictures with adjustable interval. The album hits a low series of tracks with it's ninth song, "Have Mercy." However, the track is a needed song as it moves away from the crooning ballads that the album shines on and just takes things easy. There's not too much to say on the track except that it has a nice message and works well. "Can't Help Myself" follows and is about Gerald's feelings that he's found a woman he loves and that he's ready to settle down. Asking how many times a girl is gonna run back to her man, even though he loves her, the song has sweet lyrics and a solid delivery. The tempo slows a lot but Gerald keeps up his strong vocals. Reaching another peak, the album's seventh track, "How Many Times" is one of the album's best. I like the way the verses start with "Somebody if anybody" and they flow really nicely. Keeping up the strong streak of tracks, "Someone" is starts off great and features more of Gerald LeVert's awesome delivery. The lyrics are sweet and the chorus is really catchy. There's not much meat to the track but the chorus is great and the lyrics are wonderfully sweet.įollowing the track is the creative "Answering Service." The song is entertaining with Gerald singing into an answering machine about how much he loves a girl and how sorry he is for messing up. The final chorus really shines as Gerald belts it out, but the entire song is wonderful. That punch that was lacking resurfaces in "I'd Give Anything," which is an incredible song and probably one of Gerald's best. On the other hand, it just lacks the punch to make it a winner. The track is sweet and it works wonderfully as background music. On the plus side, Gerald turns his crooning to the max and tells his girl to leave her worries at the door. The third song of the album, "Let The Juices Flow" is a mixed bag. The delivery is much improved and the track's only flaw is that the chorus can feel a little slow. He lets his girl know that he's there for her and that she shouldn't listen to her friends. It sounds like the track aims for a silky smooth delivery but ends up tripping over itself.ĭespite the weak start, Gerald finds his groove quickly with "Rock Me." The song features some of Gerald's crooning as he tells it how it is. Well, all photos and videos do that, but this is an all-encompassing, spectacular way to see your memories again.ĭecember 13 update. On the Vision Pro, remember, they will appear to be life-sized, appearing either as a large window or an immersive environment that largely surrounds the user.Īpple sees this as a way of recording your memories. This has less wow factor but adds to the compatibility for playback. Combining them into one video is complex and achieved when the iPhone “scales the field of view from the Ultra Wide camera to match that of the Main camera, which is then saved into a single video file.”Īs mentioned above, if you play back these files on the iPhone or iPad, say, then you’ll just see a regular 2D video. This is clever: the two cameras have different focal lengths and sensors with different resolutions-48 megapixels on the Main camera, 12 megapixels on the Ultra Wide. How the iPhone 15 Pro captures spatial video. The 3D effect, which is highly compelling when you see the videos played back on a Vision Pro, is created by shooting video on two of the iPhone’s cameras at the same time, the Main and Ultra Wide lenses. They have a wow factor which, I suspect, will lead some potential customers to reach for their credit cards as soon as they’ve seen them.Īpple has more details of how the recording will work, explaining that they are captured at 1080p resolution, at a frame rate of 30 frames per second, and with standard dynamic range. Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, describes these videos as “magical.” Although Apple, like most companies, can tend towards hyperbole, I’d say there is something really extraordinary about these videos, which I saw in a demonstration of the Vision Pro some months ago. In a Newsroom post, Apple specifies how the two latest Pro handsets are now capable of recording spatial videos, describing it as “a groundbreaking new capability that helps users capture life’s precious moments” and watch them back on the Apple Vision Pro when it’s released next year. Alongside the release of the update, Apple has set out lots more details about spatial video capture on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. With big new features like Journal and so many smaller details, this is a big update.ĭecember 12 update. MORE FROM FORBES Apple iPhone iOS 17 NameDrop Causes Security Panic: Should You Be Worried? By David Phelanĭefault notifications sounds can be customized to a greater degree-something previously restricted to texts, mail and calendar alerts. There’s also Qi2 charger support for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, which haven’t had it until now. Similar to NameDrop (which is entirely secure, despite the furor that arose last week about it), you can now share boarding passes or movie tickets just by bringing two iPhones together. Typing messages, or anything else, is updated so you can turn off predictions inline, although personally I love that feature. There are improvements to Messages, including body shape customization in your Memoji, stickers to add to messages as reactions, and security improvements to protect against spyware. You can now set it to Translate, making it easy to have conversations in foreign languages without even having to open an app. These videos will play back in 3D on the headset-I’ve seen these videos on the headset, and they look amazing-but just regular 2D on the iPhone.Īlso on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max only, there’s a new shortcut for the Action button, which replaced the Mute/Ring slider of previous iPhones. With this update you can shoot spatial video on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Talking of integration, with this release Apple AAPL has added the capability to shoot video in a particular way that will integrate with Apple’s next big product category, the Apple Vision Pro headset. It’s designed to help improve your wellbeing and is stunningly integrated into the iPhone, all securely encrypted to help your private entries stay for your eyes only. Chief among these is the new Journal app, which helps you write about the stuff that’s happening to you. Unlike the last couple of updates, which were all about bug fixes and security measures, iOS 17.2 has lots of new features as well as the customary bug-squishing effects. The answer: If you’re just buying the pencil, Ulta, because it’ll be 40 percent off. To navigate this, I’ve done the work for you, determining whether it’s better to get your Anastasia Brow Wiz from Ulta or directly from the ABH website. With every brand trying to get in on the shopping boom, there’s an overwhelming amount of sales, with both the big retailers (think Sephora, Dermstore, Ulta) and the brands they carry offering a discount. You can even stock up on the viral Summer Fridays Lip Balm, which I’ve previously said is the best vegan option because it doesn’t contain beeswax but still manages to be very shiny and hydrating. This season’s offerings run the gamut, from Paula’s Choice BHA Liquid exfoliant (20 percent off at Dermstore) to cheaper-than-normal Boy Smells candles, which are 25 percent off through the weekend. The yearly friends and family sales don’t compare to the 25 to 30 percent savings we often see during this time, which is why I always use it as an opportunity to stock up on my favorite beauty products, buy gifts for loved ones, and try out new products I’ve been eyeing throughout the year. I’ve been writing about beauty my entire career, and in those seven years I’ve learned some things: (1) Never shave or bleach your eyebrows in service of a trend, and (2) Black Friday and Cyber Monday tend to offer the best deals of the year. When I paste a screenshot, the window is pink, just like the other poster. Simultaneously when Safari issues crop up, I also have issue with Pixelmator, I don't see this mentioned anywhere but I see Pixelmator in the screenshot a few posts above. I don't have any of the suggested apps installed (Al Dente, OWC Dock Ejector, Avast, AppTamer.) But what I have open now is nowhere near what I usually have open on my 2017 iMac. Just like many others I use Mail + have many tabs open (about 70 in 10 windows) and the issue crops up when more tabs are open and seems to be less when I close more tabs. Started happening quite immediately on a brand new MacBook Pro 16", M2 Pro, 32GB of ram. I agree with another poster that particularly the correlation with HTML content in Mail.app indicates a webkit-rendering related issue, although it could just be that Webkit is triggering some sort GPU bug. The system log shows some entries referencing webkit GPU from AppTamer (a third-party app that can keep troublesome processes from hogging the CPU):ĭebugĐ9:12:23.740250-0400Ěpp Tamer found no value for key in CFPrefsSearchListSource (Domain:, Container: (null)) OWC Dock Ejector (for my Thunderbolt Dock) I do have two of the three possible suspects on a previous poster's list: I do have quite a few windows and tabs open in Safari, but I have certainly had many more in the past without this issue so I don't think it is directly correlated to that. Just launched Maps.app to check based on another post: Yep, Maps.app too.ġ6" 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max - 64GB ram - Ventura 13.3.1 (a) Sometimes certain elements of the window contents reappear against a black page background. All-black windows in some Safari and Mail.app windows sometimes resizing makes the contents come back. Safari had been working for a while when I first attempted to search for solutions to this issue, but this happened: Somewhat amusing (while also being massively irritating). I've resorted to a 2-computer setup: doing most of my work on the MacBook Pro, while using a MacBook Air for web browsing. You mentioned that you rarely use maps, but I'm curious if you've noticed impacts in other applications? Once this problem is triggered (seemingly by Safari) I've seen weird graphical anomalies in everything from the Finder to Microsoft Excel. For a few hours it seemed like this might have helped, but then the issue reappeared. Sometimes the problem recurs immediately after reboot. Like you, I've also found that rebooting can improve things for a while, but not always. This all worked fine in Monterey, but clearly something has changed in Ventura. Once I launch Safari, however, glitches start appearing in Safari and certain other applications. If I reboot the computer and don't launch Safari, everything seems to run fine. I only have a handful (literally 5 at the moment) of windows open in Mail.įor me, it definitely seems to be safari that trips things up. I would estimate ~75 windows, each with multiple tabs. Like you I have a LOT of windows open in Safari. I forgot to include my hardware & software setup: I was able to get a video to Apple about this but have heard nothing from them. This frequently is accompaied with a lot of bad video stuff, Windows flickering and the such. Simply killing it and relaunching fails as it is automatically launching with that image. The only way to get out of this is to reboot. But then how does ti corrupt an actual image itself, unless its maintaining the same memory map internally, but at some point of the bad pointers will cause a crash.Īnd I have Photos hanging instead of crashing one trying to display another one. There may be a test color used to pick out these things, as I use magenta for highlighting something that's not supposed to be right. I suspect that something is sending it looking towards other and wrong memory. So, the Mac will have a backing store as a series of small fragments on a visibility chain for each window that will naturally render it faster than just entire windows. I had to eventually just t take a snapshot with the phone. The instance of this image in Photos crashes the app. This rarely happens unless I have AppleTV+. However I have a similar bug which turns my windows magenta. I do get the black windows, so kind of GPU mishap, likely not handling the fragments each window so some times I'd see only part of the window MIA. |
